According to local sources, the Imam of Shalaktu village in the Qaisar district of Faryab province raped a 12-year-old girl.
This Imam of the mosque was a guest in someone’s house on Friday night, 15 July, and raped the daughter of his host.
According to the sources, this Imam of the mosque went from the guest house to the room of his host’s daughter at 12:30 pm and raped her by force. The Imam of the mosque fought the girl’s father after he realized what happened and then the Imam ran away from the place, leaving his shoes and his donkey behind.
The girl’s father called the officials of the Taliban group, and the Imam of the mosque was arrested by the Taliban intelligence a day later, on Sunday.
Faryab is one of the most unsafe provinces for women. After the Taliban takeover and the dissolution of women’s protection institutions, the number of murders, rapes, suicides, and violence against women has increased sharply in this province.
